A Liberty Network Account (i.e., SENSENET account) gives Liberty University students, faculty, and staff access to the online resources of Liberty University. All current Liberty University students, faculty, and staff are required to claim their Liberty network account.
Important Information
- It is against Liberty University Information Services policy to share your account password with anyone, for any reason.
- Upon graduation, students will retain their Liberty network accounts and email addresses indefinitely. Access to certain resources, such as EZproxy (for the Online Library) and Kivuto (software purchases), will be disabled if a student is currently not taking classes.
- The following characters are not recommended for use in passwords, and have been known to be problematic:
% _ $ & ; ( ) [ ] { } " ' ` * ? @ / \ . - Users should never respond to a message asking for their username and password. Liberty University will never ask you for your password. For more information, click here.
- If you are claiming your Liberty Network Account in Internet Explorer, you may encounter an issue where—no matter how strong the password that you enter is—the strength indicator bar beneath the boxes for your password will stay at 0%. This is a known issue with Internet Explorer, so as long as you are sure your password meets all requirements, you can continue.
- Residential students who do not know their ID number may call (800) 543-5317 to speak with Resident Admissions. Online (LUO) students who do not know their student ID number may call (800) 424-9595 to speak with a New Enrollment Specialist. Students may also find their ID number on their Liberty Flames Pass, or can call the Liberty University IT Helpdesk at (866) 447-2869 for assistance.
- Faculty and staff will need their employee ID number. Faculty/Staff who do not know their ID number may contact Human Resources at (434) 592-7330 during normal business hours. Faculty/Staff may also find their employee number on their Liberty OneCard, their employee proximity badge, or can call the Liberty University IT Helpdesk at (866) 447-2869 for assistance.
To claim your Liberty Network Account, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the following link: Claim your Liberty Account
- Under Your Liberty Account, click on Click Here to Claim Your Account.
- Enter your personal identification information as prompted. You will then need to check the check-box to confirm that you have read the University policy on account use. Then click Continue.
- Liberty ID number (Including the "L")
- Last Name
- Date of Birth
- Social Security Number (numbers only - NO dashes)
- ZIP code
Note: If you are an International student, you will need to click I am an international student. This step will require you to enter your Country and Phone Number instead.
- The final step in the Claim Account Process will require you to setup your unique password.
Create a password using the following constraints:
- Ensure it is at least 10 characters in length
- Contains at least 1 capital letter and at least 1 lowercase letter
- Contains at least 1 number or special character
- The following characters can be problematic and are not recommended for use in passwords:
(% _ $ & ; ( ) [ ] { } " ' ` * ? @ / \).
- Click Claim Account to complete the process.
- The final page should display your Liberty email address (which will also be your username). Using this email address and the password that you just created, you will be able to log into the Liberty website and access all of the resources that are available to you, such as email, ASIST, and Financial Check-in.
Once the account has been claimed, it may take up to 2 hours before the account is fully synchronized with all relevant systems. Typically, you should be able to sign in after 15 minutes have passed. Per the Claim Account page, creation of the email account may take up to six hours.
